A. ThermoWave is a system that comfortably and non-invasively uses heat to heal. It’s dual modality energy induces hyperthermia, an artificial fever in the body, to which the body responds by up-regulating it’s natural healing processes!

ThermoWave Technology addresses non-conforming and deregulated cells to either heal them or flush them away while having no effect on healthy cells as they safely dissipate the heat.

A. An average session is 20-30 minutes for one or two treatment areas.  Often 4-6 treatments will significantly resolve the pain, slow disease progression, and show noticeable improvement, both in the exam and at home. It is important to schedule sessions every other day, if possible, to ensure sufficient sustaining heat concentration in damaged cells resulting in maximum benefit.

Treatment duration will depend on the age, severity, and diagnosis of each patient.  Many patients may need to start at a couple of weeks at 3x per week then taper to twice a week. With twice a week, it is still important to have 24 hours between sessions.

A. Typically, a gentle warming sensation is all that is felt by patients. In fact, many patients are so comfortable they go to sleep. In comparison, a heating pad is substantially hotter than a ThermoWave pad. While it is not common, some patients may be more comfortable using the pulse mode rather than continuous wave. Alternatively, a towel can be used between the pad and the surface to diffuse the heat if necessary.

A. Side effects are rare and may include slight redness at the treatment site. As the body purges the toxins, there may be an increase in urination and drowsiness from the endorphin release. There have been a few reports of diarrhea and vomiting that lasted 1-2 days, although this could not be directly attributed to the ThermoWave treatments.

A. Patients may return to normal activity right after a ThermoWave session. However, rest is encouraged for a day or so, and activity levels may need to be managed so that healing can occur without increased chance of further injury because they are feeling so much better after ThermoWave.

A. Improvement in pain begins with the first treatment, and increased mobility is usually noticeable within the first week or two depending on the severity of length of time of the condition. Healing continues over weeks and months, as they experience increased strength from ongoing healing and more activity.

A. The challenge with other modalities is that they either over-treat with extensive collateral damage (like steroids, shockwave, and chemotherapy) or they under-perform with limited efficacy and little long-term relief, especially without continuous treatments (like cold laser, homeopathy and massage).

A. Most patients with inflammation and pain, either acute or chronic, would be suitable candidates for ThermoWave Therapy. ThermoWave is non-invasive, comfortable, and delivers clinically optimized heat where it is needed to induce rapid healing and reduce pain. Unlike other modalities, ThermoWave can be safely used for patients with metal implants, on the proviso that they do not exceed 8 cm, and nor can the patient have embedded electrical device.

Since ThermoWave upregulates the body naturally creating heat and increasing blood flow to heal tissue, without risk of damage to healthy tissue, there really no reason not to try ThermoWave.

A. ThermoWave results are long-lasting. For acute conditions, ThermoWave heals at the molecular level restoring health to soft and hard tissue injuries. These patients will likely not return with the same complaint unless they reinjure themselves.

For chronic conditions, ThermoWave helps to slow degeneration, reduce pain, and improve healing over time. After a course of therapy that aligns with the patients’ condition, severity, and length of time it’s been present, additional treatments and their timing are at the discretion of the owner. It may be a few months or longer before a noticeable change in condition might necessitate as brief course of ThermoWave Therapy. As with any treatment, individual results may vary.

A. A microwave oven uses significantly more power (about 800-2000 watts) and is intended to cook food. ThermoWave uses 25-45 watts of power and is intended to gently warm biological tissues and its temperature is monitored in real time for maximum safety. There are built-in controls that block the system’s ability to go over 40C on the surface (target temperature is 4 degrees higher than the panel display).

The purpose of ThermoWave is to gently warm, not to cook, tissue. It is optimized to take advantage of tissue resonance, requiring less power with the ability to gently warm and maintain the clinically relevant temperature, monitoring the target and surface area in real time.
